Subject:  What We Should Be Defending

Philippians 1:16-17 "The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:  17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. ."

If you are watching the news today, you will see that we, the U.S., shot down a disabled spy satellite.  Countries such as China and Russia are visibly disturbed with the thought that we could be testing a missile system to be used against them at some point.  For years they have stated their discontent with us building a missile defense system.  I've always wondered why your enemies would be opposed to you having a strong defense.  NOT!!!

Satan is the same way.  He knows that it is your strong defensive posture that renders his attacks useless.  However, many believers have no such defense.

Paul knew that his purpose was to defend the gospel and in doing so, he knew that he would encounter spiritual warfare and he talks about that in Ephesians 6.

Today the enemy is set in array against you.  Are you set for the defense of the gospel?  Don't worry about the enemy's complaints, he's upset that you are building a defense and so he should be.  Keep building.
