Subject:  Jesus In Your Five?

Psalms 62:6- 7 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God."

You've probably seen the commercial on TV with Charles Barkley former NBA star talking to Dwane Wade, current NBA star, and Wade is trying to get Barkley to include him in his top five cell phone contacts.  He tries to convince Barkley through his actions that he deserves to be one of the most important people to him.  Through the series of commercials, Wade keeps on doing things to make Barkley appreciate him or to show that he should be there.

The problem with most believers in this regard is not that Jesus is in our "five."  It's that we have four others at all.  Often when we should be turning to God on issues, we turn to mother, father, sister, brother, friend, relative or people who have impressed us and then when these attempts prove futile, we fall down on our knees and resort to Jesus.

David of the bible, learned this lesson early in life yet was often misguided and was reminded and therefore, he wrote the words above.

Today we need to remember that Jesus is our only salvation.  He shouldn't just be in our five.  He should be our One.
