Subject: Feeding My Reputation
Matthew 4:3 "And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."
What are you known for? I realized this weekend that my wife is evidently known for her affection for great food items. My wife was out of town so a few different individuals all working on their own, took it upon themselves to make sure that I passed some food items to her for her tasting when she returned. I told her once she returned that she had some reputation for food. She pointed out to me that the same thing happened to her while she was in Dallas. Of course being the "fitness" guru that I think I am, I went on to point out to her that none of the food items left for her were particularly healthy.
This was concerning physical food, but Satan works in the same manner to "feed your reputation." Many times I've said that Satan is the best historian ever. He keeps track of all of your failings and weaknesses and once you've developed a reputation or a weakness for something, he strikes. He feeds the reputation that you've developed.
Satan is known as the tempter. He's watching today to see where he can tempt you. Your reputation will play a big role in where Satan decides to tempt you. If I've got a reputation for simple pleasures, such as food, among family and friends and they are willing to accommodate me on that, how much more will the enemy accommodate my reputation for sin. Watch out because the evil one stands more than ready to feed your reputation.
