Subject: The Weapons Of Our Warfare

2 Cor 10:4 - "Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ:"

As I sat at my desk, my wife Angela came into the room and said,
"I guess we're going to war." She has this peculiar habit of prefacing her
statements with "I guess."

In our goings let us remember that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. They do not pertain to nor are they characterized by the flesh, or the body, it's passions, appetites or emotions. They are Spiritual. The Weapons of Their Warfare or Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) are carnal

"One of the most common descriptive abbreviations used to refer to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) is NBC: Nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. To be effective these weapons must impact large numbers of people. Yet, the impact on large numbers of people need not be either direct or physically harmful. Fear of a weapon of mass destruction contributes greatly to these weapons' usefulness as a tool in pursuing political objectives. The potential user of, and defender from, a weapon of mass destruction both have an interested in how potential victims perceive the threat from the weapon."

Fear and insecurity are threats to peace, but there are different kinds of peace.

1. There is a peace of the world, which President Bush spoke about in his address to the U.N. General Assembly President George W. Bush before United Nations General Assembly Sept. 12, 2002 "...the peace of the world must never again be destroyed..."

2. There is a peace of the world that is associated with destruction, recorded in the prophecy of Daniel, illustrative of the potential for "peace" to be used as weapon for the destruction of many, i.e., a Weapon of Mass Destruction. "And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace (Heb. Shalvah; security [genuine or false], prosperity, safety) shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes (even The Prince of Peace); but he shall be broken without hand." (Dan 8:25 KJV)

3. There is a peace of Yahoshua "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 KJV)

We should remember, that although we are engaged in Warfare, "The Battle is not ours, but Yah's,"..."and we are not to be afraid nor dismayed by reason (nor the reasoning) of the great multitude." For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but (a spirit) of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7 KJV)

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) (2 Cor 10:4 KJV) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Cor 10:5 KJV)
