Subject: Early Before The Lord
Genesis 19:27 - "And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:"
This morning didn't quite work out for me. It seems like mid-day already. All of the kids are up and have been and I've had to have conversations before 5:00 a.m. That's tough for me because the only conversation I usually have in the morning is with God. I realized just this morning how anyone can be a distraction, even those you love. On my way to the gym I had car trouble. I turned around and came home after doing a little preventive maintenance and now I'm talking to my daughter, my wife, my niece and nephew who spent the night... The focus is definitely off a little.
Many of God's people of the bible often did what Abraham did. They got up early and "stood before the Lord." This often provided them with direction for the day and it works for you and me also.
My focus is somewhat off each day that I don't begin simply talking or listening to His voice. Today I feel blessed that I have a 45 or an hour and half drive into work. That will set me back on track as I spend time with God. Start your day early with Him and let the peace begin.
