Subject:  Another Way To Talk About His Power

2 Corinthians 12:10 - "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

I keep seeing this over and over again in the scripture and I continue to find new ways to talk about how God is most powerful and how we seem to subtract from Him.  I've come to realize that the only way we can truly see His manifest power in our lives is to realize how totally "nothing" we are without Him.  Here's my latest analogy.

God is like the power of undiluted bleach.  If you've ever washed white clothes and put in too much bleach, it will actually tear the fabric.  That's some mighty powerful stuff.  God knows that He is so powerful that we can't take Him in all of His glory.  However, He would like us to see that as He is bleach, we are likened unto water.  The more of us that we pour into His works, the weaker His works are.  Yes, we water down the power of God.  That's the point that Paul was making.

Our weaknesses give us less to offer God and therefore the less of us there is, the more of Him there is.  John the Baptist said it best when he said, "I must decrease and He must increase."

Today, turn all of yourself over to Him, but ensure that you are not diluting His power.  Better than bleach, He can get all of the stains of life out all by Himself.
