Subject: God's Crisis
Jeremiah 17:22 - 23 "Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction."
It has been described as an international or world crisis. Stock markets throughout the globe are in epic fluctuation. Terror is taking root in places that have not experienced such acts. Here in the U.S. we contemplate massive housing foreclosures and the possible loss of millions of jobs. We call this a recession and an economic crisis. What I've realized is that man makes his crisis, but that doesn't mean it's a crisis to God.
It was only a few short months ago that some "experts" were predicting that a barrel of oil would hit the $200 mark by the end of the year. At that time, a gallon was about $4. Now with gas below $2 a gallon across the country, I heard "experts" on the radio predicting that gas could be below $40 a barrel by the end of the year. Just shows you what the "experts" know.
While the world may be in some type of crisis or other, as believers, we need to realize that our crisis is His crisis. What is that you ask? The same one that He has always had, "stiff-necked" people like you and me who don't hear God's instructions to us.
Today we could be distracted by the world economic markets or even our personal financial troubles, but for sure, God's not having a crisis there so why should we? As a country and the world, God will surely fix our crisis, when we respond to His. Hear Him. Follow Him and live.
