Subject: Now What Was I Saying?
Luke 8:5 - "A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it."
I've been really frustrated the last few days. Besides the normal frustration from being overwhelmed at work, I couldn't get my day started properly by thinking on God and then writing my morning devotional. I've really come to realize how important it is in my daily routine to just think on God first. Anyway, while I was in the midst of this frustrating period, on several occasions, great devotional topics came to mind. Some I committed to paper and others went through my mind and back out into space somewhere. I can see now what was happening.
Satan would love to take us off of our game. Our "game" is getting closer to God so that we can hear what He is saying and telling us to do. Satan's game is to make sure those messages, seeds, from God are not received. I was getting so upset with not being able to do my devotionals, that I misplaced the paper with those topics and said to myself, "well I can't write them now anyway." I was discouraged and allowing the fowls of the air to devour God's seeds.
We've got to be ever-vigilant to nurture and nourish God's seed. Satan wants to distract us and divert us when we are "on-task" as believers. If you find yourself thinking, "now what was I saying?" you know that he's stolen your seed.
