Subject:  Tomorrow - A New Year?

Isaiah 43:18-19 - "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."

Well, it's New Year's Eve.  I'm sure everybody's ready for the "New Year" and at this time of year people begin to make those resolutions.  Everyone wants to get a good start on the New Year.  Truth of the matter is, not only is tomorrow a new year, but yesterday was also a new day.  Just like yesterday, each day starts another opportunity for God to do something fresh and brand new.  And technically, every day starts another 365 day year, so it's always a new year, but the point here is that in God, every day speaks of another chance for Him to exhibit His matchless grace and His marvelous wonder in our lives.

That's what makes the Christian life so exciting.  Today can be the pits.  I can have disappointment and heartache and with hope in Christ, I can lie down at night and be excited about the prospects of tomorrow.  I learned that lesson clearly from my first child, Caylah.  When she was only months old, I watched how, regardless of the night before, she always awoke happy, smiling and excited the next morning.  to her, every day started with excitement and expectations of joy.

Is that true in your life? Do you dread tomorrow because of the circumstances you may face?  The bible has tons of stories of God's people who faced impending doom, but who trusted in the Almighty God who was able to change the "tomorrow circumstances" in their lives.  So tomorrow and every tomorrow after that, remember, it's not just a New Year, It's a New Day!
