Subject:  Did You Hear Me God?

Deuteronomy 3:26 - "But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter."

I was playing with Caylah, my 8 year-old daughter, and Caisa, my 5 year-old, had the video camera rolling.  She asked me a question during the taping and I failed to respond because I was busy with Caylah.  Looking at the video, I had not realized that Caisa had been desperately trying to ask me a question.  As I watched the video, I was upset with myself that I had ignored her as she continued to increase the volume until the video ran out.  I was wrong in not hearing.

Do you ever feel like that's what we do with God?  We "yell" by praying, fasting, crying and uttering all kinds of language in order to get Him to hear us.  While human ears, like mine trying to hear my daughter, can be quite fallible, you better believe that that is not the case with God.  Even those times when God wants to tell us no or wants us to wait, He'll respond as He did above.  It wasn't that He didn't hear Moses, it was that He didn't need to hear Him again, so He clearly stated that.

Today, as you seek God, consider what He may be saying or doing.  Perhaps it's that He doesn't need to hear us again.  If that is the case, He will let us know.  If that is not the case then patience is the order of the day, because God always hears the cries of His people.
