Subject: Global Warming Is Coming For Some
Genesis 6:13 - "And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth."
I was watching a news program last week as they interviewed a scientist about Global Warming. The interviewer attempted to get an explanation for the recent cold spells we've been having and getting snow in unlikely places such as Las Vegas. Like the interviewer, I found it strange that Global Warming could be used to substantiate not only warming temperatures, but also colder temperatures and as the scientist went on to explain, all of the temperatures in between those extremes. In other words, blame Global Warming and you can't be wrong.
I had occasion to look through a Farmer's Almanac yesterday and realized as they stated, this more cyclical than anything and I believe that. Moreover, a reading of the scriptures has convinced me that the creation of the earth is but another tool used by God to judge man.
See the problem isn't our misuse of the planet earth and its resources, the problem is the wickedness and evil in our hearts. When God begins to judge us for that, he could use the oceans, the sun, the moon, the weather or anything else He chooses because that's what He does. We could miss the point He's making and focus on the belt He's spanking us with, but the point is that if we are living before Him righteously, then we don't have to worry about temperature extremes or floods such as Noah encountered. It reminds me of an old song by the group "4-Him" when they said, "...thinking that if we can save the planet, we can somehow survive..." We can't. None of us are going to outlive God's judgment.
Today, we should be praying that the world come to know the Jesus who created the sun that we now blame for temperature extremes and remember, for those who don't come to a knowledge of His saving grace, they have a sure future of Global Warming and that without end.
