Subject:  The Excitement Of Christ(Mas)

Luke 2:11-14 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I have this idea that the angels demonstrate a lot of the behaviors that we believers will show when we're all in heaven.  Now I know that we won't be angels because scripture says that we will be higher than angels.  In fact, we will judge angels.  So when I see the behavior of angels in the bible, I think to myself, "man that's the way we're going to be doing it and more so."

Today lets look at the behavior of the angels as they began to proclaim Christ.  It appears that they were simply delivering the message of the Savior's birth.  "For unto you is born in the city of David..."  It seems nicely presented and all orderly stated.  They go on to tell them how to recognize the newborn King.  "You will find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."  Then it got wild.  The scripture makes it clear that all of a sudden with the angel a heavenly host appeared and the praise party was on.  It seems that they started praising God and saying "Glory to God in the highest..."

Has that ever happened to you?  You start talking about Jesus and the praise and glory to God just starts happening?  If it hasn't then it will.  See that's what this Christmas excitement is all about.  It's the time to proclaim that the King was coming and has now come and we believers get all excited about the future expectation of His coming again, just like the first Christmas.

Today recognize that Christmas is coming because Christ has come and feel the excitement.  That ain't the spirit of Christmas.  It's the Spirit of Christ.
