Subject: When You've Found The Savior - 2
Luke 2:8 - 11 "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:16 - 18 "And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds."
Because of the anxious expectation of the shepherds, they eagerly awaited the Savior's birth. When then angel of the Lord made it known to them that the Savior was here, they didn't talk about having things to do or jobs to finish, they went "with haste." That is the first reaction we should have if we've found The Savior.
The second reaction we should have if we've found the Savior should be evangelism. The shepherds had finally found the Savior. Remember the Savior is the fulfillment of all of our hopes and dreams. The Savior completes our lives. The Savior is our rescuer from our present circumstances and the Savior is our eternal hope. Therefore, when we've found Him, our response should be to share Him with the world.
Today, like the shepherds, "make known abroad" that The Savior is here. You can only do that, if you've in fact found Him. Perhaps maybe that is even a measure of whether or not you've found Him. Are you eager to make Him known abroad? Consider that.
