Subject:  When You've Found The Savior - 1

Luke 2:8 - 11 "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:15 - "And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us."

Luke 2:16 - "And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger."

When you realize that you really need help of some type you are anxious for that "aid" to arrive.  That was my case a few weeks ago after I locked my keys in my car at a gas station on my way to work.  I anxiously awaited the arrival of the AAA personnel to free me from my helpless condition.

When the shepherds "got the word" that The Savior had arrived, they didn't go on about their daily business of shepherding, but the scripture says that they "came with haste."  This is the first thing believers who have found The Savior should do; they should come or go with haste.  When you've found The Savior, the time is now.  Notice the shepherds; they were willing to leave their jobs to see the Savior.  This is what they had longed for and waited for.  Think about some of the excuses we make for not "going to see The Savior" on worship day or other reasons not to put ourselves into His presence every day, should make us wonder if we've found the Savior at all.  Or think about urgently we go about reaching those around us.  Sometimes we act as though we've got all the time in the world.

Today's point is that when you've found The Savior, you move with a sense of urgency to be about His business, i.e. "with haste" as the shepherds did to see Him.  Put aside apathy and "let us go now to see this thing which has come to pass" because we still need to see The Savior every day.
