Subject: Not Smart, Simple
2 Corinthians 1:12 - "For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward."
I'm really not smart enough to understand all of the back and forth about why this company should get a bailout or why this company shouldn't. However, I like my simplistic thinking that seems to work for me and perhaps the guys and gals in Washington D.C. should heed my "simple" views when making some of their decisions. Here are a few of them:
1. If people see that they can fail and that the government will support them when they do, they will fail.
2. If you start simply handing out money, a line will form.
3. If you can't do the right thing because you think something bad will happen, remember that you aren't God.
4. If a company can sell 11 million cars in a year and not make a profit, they should fail.
5. If you're working for a company that sells 11 million cars a year and can't make a profit, you should begin looking for another company to work for.
6. If unemployment skyrockets, think of all of the volunteers and community service that could be accomplished.
Well those are just a few of my "simple" thoughts. It's definitely not fleshly wisdom because I don't have that, but God's principles work for sure.
