Subject:  What You Do Or Don't Do Says A Lot About You

1 Peter 1:15 - "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;"

"From the time you arrived this morning, until the time you depart on Friday, you will be continuously evaluated."  Those were the words that kicked off The Summer Leadership Camp for my Marine Corps Junior ROTC cadets.  As we attempt to teach independent and advanced thought patterns, many of the cadets didn't really understand the point that I was making.  Each cadet was required to be in charge for part of the time that they were there.  Being in charge meant keeping the cadets on schedule and determining when the cadets needed a break or to eat.  The cadets continued however, to ask me questions that they should've answered in their position of leadership.  My answer was always the line above, "what you do or don't do, says a lot about you."

This is how God deals with us.  He gives us freedom of choice to make most decisions.  What we decide ultimately says much about who we are and what we believe.  I thought about this again when I read the headline today about the Democratic Presidential candidates participating in the "milestone" event, "the gay debate," which occurred yesterday.  The gay network that sponsored it said that they wanted to do the same thing with the Republican candidates, but they Republican candidates were not interested.  What you do or don't do, says a lot about you.

In every facet of life, we should think about this.  We should ensure that what we do be a representation of the holiness of God, because good or bad, right or wrong, what we do or don't do says much about us.
