Subject: Whose Hands Was It In?
Psalms 95:4 - 5 "In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land."
So can you guess the cliché line I'm referring to here? It's often used to say that we've exercised all of our ability and now we've turned it over to God. Okay here it is: "It's in the Lord's hands now." What I understand from this cliché is that we feel like there is a time when it's outside of His control and at some point we can say that we've done all that we can do.
2 points
1. It's always in His hands. Even when we think we're doing our own thing, God is always in control. Remember, He made this whole earth and runs and maintains it all. That's omnipotence at work.
2. Here's another cliché that should be, "you ain't done till God says you're done." If we feel like it's our job to try to fix it as much as we can and then turn it over to God, perhaps that's how we get to the point of frustration and therefore have to use the cliché. Surrendering to God's will and way is always the right thing to do, but that should happen before we start trying to solve the problem or work the solution anyway.
So if you decide to use this cliché, take off the word "now" and know that it's always in His hands.
