Subject:  Lessons From David And Goliath  - Be The David

1 Samuel 17:24 - "And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid."

1 Samuel 17:52 - "And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron..."

Yesterday we talked to some extent about God's ability to use one man, or one dollar or one stone to kill the "giants."  One man willing to stand for God can have a tremendous impact and we see that clearly in the life of this young lad David.  Let's see the impact he had on the people.

When he arrived in the valley to take his brother's their lunch, the giant was taunting the men of Israel and what were they doing as identified in verse 24 above?  Yes that's right, running away scared.  Let's let a few minutes pass by in this story and during that time, let's see a man make a bold stance for God and watch the impact it has on those around him.  What we see is the same men of Israel, who had just been cowering and running away in fear, now motivated and shouting and in pursuit of their enemies instead of running the other way.

How does this apply to you?  Do you motivate others with your faith and belief in God?  Are you the David who makes the stand for God?  Are people more ready and willing to pursue their enemies because of the bold stance you make for Christ?  Remember, we are salt and light in this world.  Both of those substances are agents of change.  When salt is added to food, the taste is no longer the same and when light enters a dark room, the darkness is removed.

Let's start today to see that through Christ, we are more than conquerors.  Be the David in your office, in your home and in your church even.   If you will "be the David," those around you will sound the battle cry and pursue the giants in their lives.  Remember, the head of the enemy has already been cut off, there is no need to fear.
