Subject: Lessons From David And Goliath - You Kill Giants By Attacking Them
1 Samuel 17:24 - "And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid."
1 Samuel 17:48 - "And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."
What a difference it makes in life when you have people who are willing to challenge the enemy. Whether that enemy be an injustice against someone, a wrong attitude, or people bent on terror such as we have today. While some choose not to stand and fight but prefer to live in fear, some do the opposite.
Remember the scenario with David? When he shows up on the battlefield to take lunch to his brothers, who are supposed to be out fighting the war, they are instead cowering in fear from the taunts of the Philistine giant, Goliath. David was amazed that the people of God were standing in fear when they should've been challenging this giant who was "defying the armies of the Living God."
Look at the differing actions between the rest of the men of Israel and David. The men of Israel, when they saw the giant, "fled from him and were sore afraid." However, David, "hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."
Whatever the giant is that has you running scared today (finances, insecurity, patience, trusting in God, even fear itself...etc), turn around, pick up "The Rock," and hasten towards that giant, because no giant was ever slain running away from it.
