Subject:  A Better Diet

Psalms 119:9 - "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psalms 119:16 - "I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word."

I'm amazed at the amount of energy that I have since I began just this past week to eat on a more regular basis and ensure that I'm eating the right foods.  My workout partner said, "that's scary because you're already way too energetic."  While some of that is due to what I've done in the physical realm of diet, much of it is also due to what has happened in the spiritual realm.

During the summer, I have my two daughters come to stay with me and boy it seemed like I was trying to keep my head above water with them everyday.  We seemingly always had something planned and while I did spend some time with them in the word on a regular basis, my personal time of devotion and meditation slumped.  I was beginning to feel worn down by it all.  Then the final straw was a very disheartening comment by my daughter when one day she said, "Daddy, you used to always read your bible."  That hit like a ton of bricks.  I knew I was over the line.

I then determined that I would work my quiet time back into my schedule and in a big way.  Just like a physical diet, which determines how you look and feel based on what goes into you, so too does a spiritual diet determine how you act, how you look to God and how you feel (conscience).  So I cleaned up both diets and I'm feeling great today.

Consider it.
