Subject:  How Would God Vote?

Luke 20:25 "And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's."

A book was recently released with the above subject title.  I haven't read the book, but I do know that it is subtitled, "why the bible commands you to be a conservative."  Of course many on the liberal end of the spectrum would take issue with anything that "commanded" them to be conservative and in reality, a look at the God of the bible or the life of Christ and you can find decisions that fall on both ends of the political spectrum.

The truth of this whole matter is that God didn't send Jesus to rule politically, although that's exactly what His followers were hoping for.  And likewise, God didn't send us into the world to ensure that we supported the "correct" political party.  He sent us to change the world as followers of Christ.  Of course we might prefer to  have a leader that makes it easy for us to do that, but you'll see through a cursory reading of the old and new testament that God's people (old testament) and the first church (new testament) grew most under persecution, hard times and with rulers that were anti-God.

The message today is that before we get too wrapped up in affiliating ourselves with a political party, lets ensure that we are affiliating ourselves with a "spiritual" party.  If we do that, then our "party leader" will tell us exactly how we should vote.
