Subject:  Our Unbecoming God

Isaiah 53:2 - "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him."

This was pulled out of the news on yesterday:

``While we respect President Bush's religious views, it is unbecoming of the president of the United States to characterize same-sex couples as sinners,''' said Matt Foreman, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's executive director.

Rep. Janice Schakowsky, D-Ill., wrote Bush a letter charging that he ``seemed to equate homosexuality with sin,'' and demanding that the president apologize.

In the immortal words of Shrek, "yeah, like that's ever gonna happen."  I don't think they clearly understand that George Bush while President and our chosen leader, is not the founder and establisher of sin.  That comes from God.  If anyone is unbecoming because homosexuality is sin, then it's God.  Don't put that on George Bush.  As the verse above says, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.  Yes, Christ is quite unbecoming to those who reject Him.

This really is a sad situation and I would venture to say most shameful for the individuals quoted above.  Have they even ever heard of the bible, would be my first question.  Okay we'll use it as God's opportunity to enlighten.

Back in the old days, this is what God said:

"Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Then in the new days after Christ came and showed the way of grace, this is what God said:

Romans 1:27 - "and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was due."

Any questions?

I don't necessarily agree with everything the President does or says, but he opens up some great opportunities to witness as he goes about planting these seeds of morality in our country.  Give me one committed man of God and let him lead me to the water and I will gladly drink.
