Subject:  Tweet That

Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise."

My niece got a new phone for her birthday and was extremely excited.  She summed it up as "this is the best present in the world."  I asked her what she was going to do with it and what its capabilities were and she began to describe all that she could do with it.  I then broke into "ultra-old parent mode" and explained how careful we must be not to waste time in our lives and that Satan is designing much in our society to ensure that we do just that.

Witness the new phenomenon known as "Twitter."  Of course there could possibly be some reason that someone needs to know what you're doing 24 hours a day, but that person already does know; He's God.  For the rest of mankind, they don't need to know everything that you're doing.

Twitter is the latest social-networking service and it allows you to send short messages via computer or your phone to other "twitterers" or people that are on your list that receive your "tweets."  Let me see, I could tweet that I am sitting at the computer writing out today's daily devotional and posting it to my blog, but I guess you would know that if you're reading it.  Uhmm, maybe I'm just wasting more time.

One day I might be on Twitter myself, but just like my Facebook account, I will probably log on once in a while.  I haven't been on my Facebook in two weeks.

The question I think that we're going to have to ask is, how much are we substituting real life for a "virtual" one and what will be the results when we do.  Do I need to "tweet" to someone that I am getting ready to pray for them?  No I think that we need to simply remain in tune with "God's tweets."  He's allowed it to be written down and His Holy Spirit is speaking to us 24/7.  That's what God is doing.  Lets tweet that to the world.
