Subject: The Original Pandemic
Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."
Mexico's government is suspending all nonessential activity of the federal government and private business as the num ber of confirmed swine flu cases jumped this week. The World Health Organization is warning of a pandemic. A pandemic is an epidemic of an infectious disease that spreads across a large region, such as a continent or even worldwide.
Thus far 160 people have died in Mexico with thousands more sick and hospitalized. Here in the U.S., the virus has now been contracted by people in ten different states and we've begun to take measures in the government and business to prevent further spread of the disease.
Reading about the origin of swine flu is pretty interesting because we seem quite unsure right now how this thing started and of course like every disease and issue of life, it all goes back to the "original pandemic" of sin. We know how that one started and it is of course a pandemic unequalled by any disease in the world and just like an infectious disease, it has been passed upon all men.
This pandemic (swine flu) may get better or worse, but in either case it is a temporary thing. The real pandemic of sin is here to stay until we all see "The Doctor." In the meantime, we should all do like Mexico City has done and declare a state of emergency and take precautions, because if the pandemic of sin goes unchecked in your life, there's no question about it, you will surely die. Lets get treated today.
