Subject: You Don't Have To Wait Until April 1st
Psalm 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."
Many of the kids at school were trying out their best April fools jokes on yesterday. It was funny because so many of them are simply recycled from my childhood days. But for so many people they don't realize that they are living as fools every day.
The verse above identifies who God calls a "fool." It's the person who says that there is no God. I don't think God only means the person who speaks it with his or her mouth, but also the person who lives that way. And I think that many of us live that way more often than we want to admit.
We need to contemplate this when we make decisions. Do we minimize God to the point where what He said doesn't matter on some issues? When we do, we're living as fools.
Today, you don't have to wait until April 1st to be a fool. Find a position on a matter that ignores what God has said about it and you've become one. Any day can be a foolish day. Believe God.
