Subject: A Bad Character
1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character."
At our high school we have an "Alternative Education Program" for those students who have disciplinary problems. In some cases, as the JROTC instructor, I have become that program. When they really have a problem with a student, they send them to LtCol Charleston. I'm really amazed that the administrators and most of the other teachers don't see the "miracle" work that I do. It's quite simple. The JROTC program is a disciplined, structured environment where you can't do everything you want to do and you can't act every way you want to act. When those "bad" students are placed in the classroom with my cadets, the transformation begins.
It's as simple as the word of God says, bad character can often be the result of the company one keeps. Our alternative education program groups most of the "bad company" together and of course they compete to see who can be the worst and a student of any type of character becomes corrupted in that environment.
That's why it is so important as believers to watch closely our daily and routine associations. We want to be "in" the world reaching the lost, but hanging out with bad company for too long and too often will make us "of" the world and that always produces a bad character.
