Subject: Biblically Correct
Mark 13:11b "...take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost"
Perhaps you've heard about the flap caused this past Sunday in the Miss USA pageant, when Miss California was asked a question by an openly gay celebrity-judge about what she believed about gay marriage. He later blasted her on a blog with profanities, spewing his hate for her and the answer she gave. Her answer set off a firestorm with many applauding her for espousing the courage of her conviction and yet many others disagreeing with her truthfulness. As I watched a show on which she was a guest, she said, "I'd rather be biblically correct than politically correct."
She went on in the interview to talk about how she immediately prayed to God to give her the right words to speak when she heard the question. Of course based on the answers that you often hear at pageants of this type, that's not what you expect these contestants to do, which is why her answer amazed many of her fellow contestants, the judges and the pageant directors. Many were quite upset.
Today we need to stop "playing to the world." We do this by worrying about what they will think of us. We shouldn't care about what they think of us if we are first concerned about doing and saying what God tells us to do and say.
Today we should ensure that all of our judgments are first biblically correct and then God will correct the rest.
