Subject:  Whose Watching Your Giving?

Acts 5:4b "...why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God."

This week the government released the tax returns of the President and Vice-President.  It was interesting to see how the giving patterns of our elected officials.  

The President made $2.7 million dollars last year and gave $172,050 to charity.  The Vice-President made $269,256 and gave $1,885 to charity.  There will surely be much discussion about what these figures mean to people who will make judgments about them.  Yes their giving or lack thereof will be under a microscope and ours always is.

God always sees our giving.  Ananias and Sapphira thought they could get away with cheating God, but they can't and neither can you or I.

The President and Vice-President don't need to worry about what the people of America say about their giving and we don't need to worry about them either.  What we do need to worry about is what we're doing with the resources that God has given to us and what God is saying about that.  

The reality is that 100% of what you have was given to you by God.  You can't pay Him off with 10% or even 30, 40 or 50%.  He wants first to get 100% of your heart.
