Subject: Take The Shot
Matthew 27:63-66 "For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries."
Off the coast of Somalia, the pirates had taken hostage the Commander of the Maersk Alabama. After five days, they were nearing Somalia shore and with the possibility that the Captain could be taken and hidden in Somalia, a daring rescue attempt was made. With time running out and the teenage pirates getting edgy, the order was given to "take the shot." It sounds like such high drama and it probably was. With three bullets, the three pirates were all killed. This proves not only the adept skills of forces like the Navy seals, but also how much timing is everything.
Spiritually, we must realize that there is a window of opportunity for us to do what God has called us to do. If we fail to do it, it could have far-reaching effects on our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.
While there are adversaries in our lives, God is giving us a window of opportunity to do great things for Him. We don't have to worry about the adversaries, because like the Commander, we will and already have been rescued. God will take the shot so that we can continue on our mission.
