Subject: No Matter How Big The Stone
Matthew 27:63-66 "Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch."
It's like that movie, I think it was Terminator 2 or something like that. Whatever they did to keep this guy down, seemed futile. They would barricade, blow up and blast him directly but nothing seemed to work. He appeared indestructible. Well that's from a fantastical movie. In real life, such a man existed and still does. That's Jesus.
The resurrection of Jesus is most fantastical. It means that because He is risen from the dead, that everything else He said is true. That means that we too can beat death. That's physical and spiritual death. Of course we will perhaps die the first death, if the Lord doesn't come while I'm writing this, but we will be raised up just as He was. For Christ, that was His purpose and now that is our purpose too, so that we can all glorify God.
The spiritual significance of Christ getting up even after they made the sepulchre secure means that while we are here, there will be huge stones placed in our path to secure our fate. Do not think that it will stop you. They can seal your life with a stone, set a watch over it to make sure you don't accomplish that thing that God has given you to do and it won't even matter, because God moves stones. It doesn't matter how big, how long they've been there and whether or not someone is trying to keep the stone in place.
Today think about the "stones" in your life and remember that God moves them and if He doesn't move the stones, not to worry, He will move you pass the stone and leave it right where it is. In any case, God is waiting to take you to your purpose.
